Week 1 to Week 3
Situation:
We are a newly formed group and a bit behind the other who formed teams in week 2. So we needed to start thinking about what we needed to do moving forward.
Task:
We needed to start planning a game that would satisfy the narrative hook required for the module.
Action:
We came up with multiple ideas. Out of all the ideas, we really liked the idea I suggested of a book telling a story in itself. We decided we would further discuss the viability of the idea based on if we could make some animations required for the book by next week. Else, we would move on to an idea he suggested which was an adventure game.
I went home and got started on the book and was able to actually create just what we were looking for.
Result:
We were able to finalize some fantastic ideas efficiently to move on with the project on the very same day, thanks to our previous experience. I was left with some deliverables regarding the idea I had presented till next week which I was able to complete.
Summary:
The start of the module was filled with excitement and new people but with regards to the actual project, for the first two weeks, I hadn't even formed a team yet. I was initially planning to work with as many media students as I could but unfortunately, the media students had other plans and as such, I didn't want to interfere with their creative process. They also had very strong feelings about using A.I and I recognize that it can be a very frustrating subject. Therefore, I decided to work with people from the games, who were used to the use of A.I as it was part of the module I wanted to explore.
By the third week, Leo was the only person that was left without a team and we decided since we had a positive experience working together previously, this would be another task we can get through.
We worked quickly and efficiently due to having previous experience working together and got our ideas. I was able to make our ideas come to life so we had something we could move forward with.
